{"id":23108,"date":"2024-02-08T11:30:05","date_gmt":"2024-02-08T15:30:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=23108"},"modified":"2024-02-08T11:35:34","modified_gmt":"2024-02-08T15:35:34","slug":"as-good-as-we-once-were","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2024\/02\/as-good-as-we-once-were\/","title":{"rendered":"As Good As We Once Were"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">8 Pax gathered at TRQ, to remember Toby Keith and honor his song \u201cAs Good as I Once Was.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>While country music played (headlined by Toby Keith), the Pax did a core modified version of the magnificent seven beatdown.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It went something like this:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Warm-o-Rama:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>the usual for Goofy, and we moseyed between each exercise to make progress to the back of the school and get some rocks. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We gathered at the circle under the light. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We then sought a goal of 7 rounds of the exercises below &#8211; written on cardboard in large letters so no reading glasses were necessary. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">7 squat press<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">14 HR Merkins<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">21 AH <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">28 curls<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">35 squats<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">42 chest press <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Cusack around circle <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">No time for Mary, we returned our rocks and made our way back to the front of the school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We circled up and YHC took us out<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">NMM<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Kotters to @SgtSchultz who was motivated that a playlist inspired by Toby Keith created a safe space free of a certain Canadian band.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>He was correct <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">YHC was inspired for this workout by the passing of Toby Keith at age 61 and his song of growing older, not being able to do what you used to.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It reminded me of when I loved to do the full Magnificent 7 workout (FYI the round started with 7 pull-ups, 14 burpees and finished with a run around a regulation size track). Thankful for what i can do and the opportunity to do it. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Upon hearing the song \u201cShould have been a cowboy\u201d @burlap noted that this must be what @Pony thinks every time he logs into his laptop each morning\u201d.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">YHC, showing my age, when moseying between exercises during warm-o-Rama, tried to say stop at the next light, and somehow said stop at the next stop light. \u00a0They understood me anyway and laughed.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">It was pointed out that there were 8 pax and 12 respects.
