On this day in 2003, our family welcomed our 2nd child and only son, Howell. \u00a0He would later rise in stature to become known as Kapow in F3. \u00a0So this beatdown allowed the pax to get to know Kapow a little bit better and be stronger for it.<\/p>\n
Kapow’s standard outfit regardless of location or temperature is a white undershirt and athletic shorts. \u00a0So, fittingly, YHC set aside the fancy workout gear usually sported and wore the shirt that was good enough for our fathers and grandfathers.<\/p>\n
Warm-o-rama<\/strong><\/p>\n Kapow was born in DeLand, Florida, which is known as the “Athens of Florida.” \u00a0YHC learned after moving there it was not referring to Athens, Ga unfortunately. \u00a0So, Sun Gods kicked off the exercises.<\/p>\n Others done to 14 IC (14th bday)<\/p>\n The Thang<\/strong><\/p>\n Pax mosey toward the trail to WFU. \u00a0Kapow goes by Howell, which is his middle name. \u00a0His first name is Truman, named after his grandfather. \u00a0Who may or may not have been named after President Truman. \u00a0When you think of President Truman, you think of Fletch scenes. \u00a0And the Fletch scene involving Harry Truman had the great line, “He dropped the big one!” \u00a0Big one meaning a BOMB, so pax did BOMBS to break up the mosey to WFU<\/p>\n 5 Burpees<\/p>\n 10 Overhead claps IC<\/p>\n 15 Merkins<\/p>\n 20 Big Boy Sit Ups<\/p>\n 25 Squats<\/p>\n Arriving on the Reynolda Quad of Dear Old WFU, the pax learned Kapow has 3 sisters. \u00a0So, we should do a 3 sister grinder. \u00a0(eerily similar to 3 man grinder, but much tougher)<\/p>\n Station 1- Hand release merkins<\/p>\n Station 2 – Copperhead squats<\/p>\n Station 1 – Heels to Heaven<\/p>\n Station 2 – Jump Squats<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Time to mosey back. \u00a0The QIC finished the great Fletch scene, “He dropped the big one.” “He dropped two big ones!” So, pax did the broken up BOMBS on the way back.<\/p>\n To explain the excessive running for a BAM Q, the pax learned the final fact about our birthday boy. \u00a0He is running for the Mt. Tabor XC team. \u00a0So, tried to get in the full 3 miles of XC race. \u00a0Fell just short at 2.5, but good effort all around.<\/p>\n FIN<\/p>\n Unfortunately, YHC couldn’t find the scene referenced, but the attached scene is beautiful nonetheless.<\/p>\n\n
