{"id":19892,"date":"2022-07-28T09:47:46","date_gmt":"2022-07-28T13:47:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=19892"},"modified":"2022-07-28T09:47:46","modified_gmt":"2022-07-28T13:47:46","slug":"family-friendly-rocking-to-the-sunset-at-trq","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2022\/07\/family-friendly-rocking-to-the-sunset-at-trq\/","title":{"rendered":"Family friendly rocking to the sunset at TRQ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Always honored to Q the premier non-running Thursday beatdown with rock in the name that doesn&#8217;t require using rocks.\u00a0 YHC wanted to come up with something sufficient and festive for such an esteemed\/older crowd.\u00a0 I said, &#8220;THE CROWD IS OLDER, BOOMERANG.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>First step is to come up with a sufficient soundtrack to help get the pax moving or complaining.\u00a0 YHC has become a fan of Starfish&#8217;s style of building a songlist based on a year.\u00a0 In preparation, for some reason, a Y2K\/what happened at the turn of the century curiosity came to mind.\u00a0 So, 2000 was the inspiration of the songs chosen.<\/p>\n<p>The crew arrived in the thick air, most on time, all ready to work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warmorama<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The usual, fill five minutes or so, not too hard, no Cherry Pie was present so overhead claps were called at one point<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Thang<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lunge walk, walk, Apollo Creed over to playground by tennis courts<\/li>\n<li>Cindy! (although YHC has never attended a Crossfit workout, not afraid to steal useful workouts, just leave out the screaming at people)\n<ul>\n<li>20 minutes AMRAP<\/li>\n<li>5 pull ups<\/li>\n<li>10 merkins<\/li>\n<li>15 squats<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Tabata (Dr. Tabata knew what he was doing)\n<ul>\n<li>20 secs &#8220;on&#8221;, 10 secs &#8220;rest&#8221; x 8 rounds = 1 cycle<\/li>\n<li>Cycle 1: Mt. Climbers<\/li>\n<li>Cycle 2: SSH<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Walk, Lunge Walk, Apollo Creed back to start<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NMM<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When you choose songs based on the year, and don&#8217;t always listen to them ahead of time, colorful language might be heard, #noradioedit<\/li>\n<li>Ziggy asked at one point if the music was &#8220;family friendly?&#8221;\u00a0 YHC responds &#8220;Depends on the family.&#8221;\u00a0 #allmeansall<\/li>\n<li>The Q might have struggled announcing how much time was left in Cindy exercise, giving false hope there were only 3 minutes left, when in fact there were 13 minutes left #Cobains<\/li>\n<li>Wobegon dropped knowledge during Rage Against the Machine song, as much colorful language came forth &#8211; Can&#8217;t rage without some rage.<\/li>\n<li>Be on the lookout for Giles and his fam to pull up to workouts in an RV soon #AmericanDream<\/li>\n<li>Superfly loved the sunset, the Q assured him the workouts wasn&#8217;t that long<\/li>\n<li>Boomerang complained about stuff, I SAID, BOOMERANG COMPLAINED ABOUT STUFF.<\/li>\n<li>In an effort to meet Green Acres approval by incorporating pull ups in the workout, evidently the lack of a formal &#8220;Mary&#8221; section did not sit well.\u00a0 (Some of us use core muscles during Mt.
