{"id":18785,"date":"2022-02-18T13:01:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-18T17:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=18785"},"modified":"2022-02-18T13:01:00","modified_gmt":"2022-02-18T17:01:00","slug":"charles-bronson-and-overachieving-at-ua","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2022\/02\/charles-bronson-and-overachieving-at-ua\/","title":{"rendered":"Charles Bronson and overachieving at UA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A balmy February morning greeted the pax in the glow of the security car&#8217;s flashers at Bailey Park, ready for some fun!<\/p>\n<p>To quote Billy Joel, &#8220;the regular crowd shuffled in&#8230;.&#8221; so we decided to get started!\u00a0 UA always has a great mix of pax, even Lamb Chop, of age, personality, and chattiness.\u00a0 All of these attributes would be on full display this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Warmorama was dispensed of fairly easily to get to the thang.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Thang<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pax moseyed to the parking deck<\/li>\n<li><strong>Charles Bronson\u00a0<\/strong>(more pax than YHC was prepared for did NOT know who CB was, a tragedy)\n<ul>\n<li>CB was an original tough guy in movies: WWII themed, western, and the classic Death Wish series, so this set of exercises wasn&#8217;t meant to be fun<\/li>\n<li>After each called exercise, run 60-ish yards, bear crawl 20-ish yards<\/li>\n<li>50 SSH<\/li>\n<li>50 Merkins<\/li>\n<li>50 Burpees<\/li>\n<li>50 LBC&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>50 Squat Jumps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chilly Broad Jumps<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Pax get in Chilcut formation (elbow plank)<\/li>\n<li>Pax at back then hop over pax in plank to the front<\/li>\n<li>each pax got to jump maybe 4 times (thanks to Lamb Chop)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bolt 45&#8217;s<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>15 halfway down squats (aka Root Canal squats)<\/li>\n<li>15 halfway up squats<\/li>\n<li>15 full squats<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>ATM<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>15 Alternating shoulder taps<\/li>\n<li>10 Tempo merkins<\/li>\n<li>10 Merkins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pax moseyed back to start for some Mary<\/p>\n<p><strong>NMM<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We launched at 0531 #cobains, because Post Hole asked about The Open Table, YHC&#8217;s job, and the volunteer needs at 0529<\/li>\n<li>YHC recommends The Great Escape and The Dirty Dozen for your viewing pleasure to see Charles Bronson in action<\/li>\n<li>50 Burpees was a real crowd pleaser, almost like the pax forgot beatdowns might be hard at times<\/li>\n<li>The lack of listening\/chattiness was on full display this morning\n<ul>\n<li>On the initial running for Charles Bronson, Root Canal decided to carve out his own path in the deck.\u00a0 Alleging the Q said we were going up.<\/li>\n<li>Frostbite tried to call the Q a liar when the 50 burpees were called.\u00a0 Saying he heard YHC say each exercise would last one minute, so focus on your form.\u00a0 Nope, YHC said the exercises were gonna &#8220;take a minute&#8221; so focus on your form.\u00a0 #soclose<\/li>\n<li>Even after the Charles Bronson set of exercises were over, pax kept wanting to run and bear crawl after future exercises. #overachievers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Lamb Chop likes to make stuff up just to argue.\u00a0 Most of the time it&#8217;s a pleasant diversion as he tries to argue North is relative to whatever he wants it to be instead of a consistent direction.\u00a0 However during the Chilly Broad Jumps section, LC got chatty and complained about how many times he had jumps (even though he doesn&#8217;t actually jump), so the Q had to call an extra round of jumps for funsies.<\/li>\n<li>Crash is smooth and steady as always, putting up with our nonsense<\/li>\n<li>No fever dream type stories this morning, sorry Wobegon, but a fun time all around!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A balmy February morning greeted the pax in the glow of the security car&#8217;s flashers at Bailey Park, ready for some fun!
