{"id":18532,"date":"2022-01-24T12:26:40","date_gmt":"2022-01-24T16:26:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=18532"},"modified":"2022-01-24T12:26:40","modified_gmt":"2022-01-24T16:26:40","slug":"getting-lucky-at-vi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2022\/01\/getting-lucky-at-vi\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting lucky at VI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Always a privilege to get asked to Q, especially at one of the oldest AO&#8217;s in all of Dashpax-land.\u00a0 Yes, it does require a little extra drive for YHC, but well worth it.<\/p>\n<p>In planning what would be appropriate for such an austere and grizzled bunch, YHC pulled out a fave set of exercises known at &#8220;The Lucky Horseshoe.&#8221;\u00a0 This particular set of exercises included pull ups, so some texts to VI regulars about where those might be located and some google map searching provided the answers and a plan was hatched.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, a quality playlist is always necessary to help pass the time.\u00a0 Granted, YHC has never asked F3 Corporate what&#8217;s their take on how often or when tunes should be used, since it might reduce some of &#8220;the suck&#8221; that allegedly makes us stronger.\u00a0 And then YHC remembered that I don&#8217;t care what they think, so it was time to start compiling!\u00a0 It wound up being a fun, for the Q, mix of college era tunes and just classics.\u00a0 It even had Burlap&#8217;s favorite included.<\/p>\n<p>Pax assembled, tunes got started, so we did!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warmorama<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SSH<\/li>\n<li>Copperhead squats<\/li>\n<li>Whirly&#8217;s clap<\/li>\n<li>Tempo Merkin<\/li>\n<li>Calf stretchy things<\/li>\n<li>IW<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Thang<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After each exercise &#8216;set&#8217; run a lap!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Merkins x 20<\/li>\n<li>Merkins + Squats x 20<\/li>\n<li>Merkins + Squats + Pull ups x 6<\/li>\n<li>Merkins + Squats + Pull ups + WWII x 20<\/li>\n<li>Merkins + Squats + Pull ups + WWII + Lunges x 20<\/li>\n<li>Squats + Pull ups + WWII + Lunges<\/li>\n<li>Pull ups + WWII + Lunges<\/li>\n<li>WWII + Lunges<\/li>\n<li>Lunges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mosey back to parking lot<\/p>\n<p><strong>Baba O&#8217;Riley<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Officially pax do IW&#8217;s while the famous song by The Who is playing<\/li>\n<li>We Omaha&#8217;d to do IW&#8217;s to the old school Blues Traveler tune &#8220;I Have my Moments&#8221; instead<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Fin!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Playlist<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More than a Feeling &#8211; Boston<\/li>\n<li>All along the watchtower &#8211; Jimi<\/li>\n<li>Get Lucky &#8211; Daft Punk<\/li>\n<li>Something for You &#8211; Dillon Fence<\/li>\n<li>The Heisman &#8211; Johnny Quest<\/li>\n<li>Big Daddy Like Whiskey &#8211; Dash Rip Rock<\/li>\n<li>Jane Says &#8211; Janes Addiction<\/li>\n<li>When Love Comes to Town &#8211; BB King &amp; U2<\/li>\n<li>Pride and Joy &#8211; Stevie Ray Vaughn<\/li>\n<li>Random Spotify Ads &#8211; Burlaps Favorite (identifies YHC is using free account)<\/li>\n<li>Mustang Sally &#8211; Wilson Pickett<\/li>\n<li>I have my moments &#8211; Blues Traveler<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NMM<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pax helped the Q figure out where the pull up bars were located, so had to modify planned lap to down on the track<\/li>\n<li>No slippage happened on any ice\/snow<\/li>\n<li>Starfish enjoyed the Dillon Fence and Johnny Quest throwback<\/li>\n<li>A solid guess of The Fabulous Thunderbirds was offered by TSC, to be told it was BB King<\/li>\n<li>Dash Rip Rock was a personal fave party band of the Q (If you like drinking and mosh pits, you&#8217;d like them)<\/li>\n<li>Sea-Man and Schneider charged hard all morning<\/li>\n<li>YHC kept trying to run into the fence along the ball field<\/li>\n<li>Starfish&#8217;s knee held up like the young buck that he is<\/li>\n<li>Sour Mash&#8217;s glasses might have fogged up and doesn&#8217;t like it when his brother shines his headlamp in his eyes<\/li>\n<li>Cowboy tried to forget his &#8220;recent&#8221; birthday, in October, that made him older that Starfish.\u00a0 Starfish razor sharp mind caught the discrepancy when TSC said he was 53.<\/li>\n<li>Starfish has a birthday tomorrow, but he will still be younger than TSC<\/li>\n<li>Sea Man gave a hearty &#8220;Go Dawgs&#8221; to YHC, which was appreciated<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Prayers<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Schneider&#8217;s BIL<\/li>\n<li>Parents &#8211; Starfish, Spam, Pony<\/li>\n<li>Families &#8211; Giles &amp; Jazzy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Always a privilege to get asked to Q, especially at one of the oldest AO&#8217;s in all of Dashpax-land.\u00a0 Yes, it does require a little extra drive for YHC, but well worth it.
