{"id":18453,"date":"2022-01-12T18:05:00","date_gmt":"2022-01-12T22:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=18453"},"modified":"2022-01-12T18:05:00","modified_gmt":"2022-01-12T22:05:00","slug":"calling-the-dawgs-at-bnw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2022\/01\/calling-the-dawgs-at-bnw\/","title":{"rendered":"Calling the Dawgs at BnW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On a chilly morning, 12 other pax were kind enough to help Atrophy and YHC to celebrate the triumphant return to the top of the college football mountain!\u00a0 As YHC shared, for some of us, the air is cleaner, the skies are bluer, the world is filled with joy, and nothing seems impossible since a bunch of 18-22 year old kids and some millionaire adults put an oddly shaped leather ball between some metal pipes or carried it into a large rectangle area that had been painted on some plastic stuff that was made to look like grass.\u00a0 Again, clearly reason to celebrate!<\/p>\n<p>Andy Griffith shares it better than I can why we celebrate: https:\/\/youtu.be\/O_B_soGAAsM<\/p>\n<p>For any good BnW, the music is truly the most important part.\u00a0 And since college football and the college scene in the Classic City (nickname of Athens town), the Q had many options to choose from.\u00a0 While Transcript might have disliked the first song on the playlist, he said a certain panic inducing tune redeemed the list for him.\u00a0 All other pax were generally silent about the selections.<\/p>\n<p>As the pax gathered up to the tunes blarin&#8217;, 0530 struck and we got started!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warmorama<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SSH x 22 (cause you know, the dawgs won the game in 2022)<\/li>\n<li>IW x 21 (cause you know they were crowned champions of the 2021 season)<\/li>\n<li>Copperhead squats x 15 (cause Carson Beck is #15 and everyone should celebrate the young backup qb)<\/li>\n<li>Merkins x 10 (cause, oh well you get it)<\/li>\n<li>Whirley&#8217;s clap<\/li>\n<li>Stretchy stretch<\/li>\n<li>Back cobra stretchy thing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Thang<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Greta 1-2-3 (Dora&#8217;s Icelandic cousin)<\/p>\n<p>100 Merkins<\/p>\n<p>200 Squat thrusters #crowdpleasers<\/p>\n<p>300 Pullovers #noitsacardiganbutthanksfornoticing<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the bonus piece of Greta is partner 1 carries a kb down and leaves it for partner 2 to pick up and return when they run<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>50 kb swings<\/p>\n<p>50 WWII<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>run a lap<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>40 kb swings<\/p>\n<p>40 WWII<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>run a lap<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Plank for :45<\/p>\n<p>FIN!<\/p>\n<p><strong>NMM<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It was a generally quiet crowd, mostly because the Q forced everyone to be too busy counting to chat<\/li>\n<li>The pax, or just Bluto, learned that The Who is another somewhat famous band that is from Athens<\/li>\n<li>Cobra loves squat thrusters<\/li>\n<li>Data stayed warm even without the fire he requested<\/li>\n<li>Evidently Atrophy had some cold hand issues, but happy to report, all digits are intact and were back to working by lunch time<\/li>\n<li>Interference was happy for his wife that her alma mater now has a won a national championship in football more recently than his (at least that was the vibe YHC picked up)<\/li>\n<li>Transcript was sandbagging based on the pace he had for the final running lap<\/li>\n<li>Per usual, Manscape brought his top tier MC game, dude just won&#8217;t stop talking!<\/li>\n<li>The Q was initially surprised to learn that Lace finally has #respect, then remembered he fartsacked that Purgatory workout in December<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prayer<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As I shared, I come from a long line of UGA grads and fans.\u00a0 I saw my first game in 1980 with my dad, watching Herschel running over Vandy.\u00a0 I met my wife while at UGA, and made some of the dearest friends I have (outside of y&#8217;all of course) during my time at UGA.\u00a0 The dawgs winning was less about them winning but all the shared experiences and memories that are connected to them.\u00a0 Especially with my dad&#8217;s passing last year.\u00a0 So, YHC invited the pax to give thanks for the shared experiences that have connected to them to family and friends.\u00a0 Those experiences are a gift.\u00a0 F3 and the many experiences connected to it: camping trips with 2.0&#8217;s, volunteering, hearing Cobra&#8217;s first speech at a beatdown, and of course doing stupid stuff early in the morning.\u00a0 Data said the kindest thing to me, &#8220;I only showed up because of you.&#8221;\u00a0 Cherish the memories and people that you have shared experiences that make our lives so rich.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Song list:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Love ya son, Go Dawgs &#8211; Man &#8211; The Allman Brothers (because YHC thought they were from Ga, but are from Florida)<\/li>\n<li>Dooley&#8217;s Junkyard Dawgs &#8211; James Brown (who IS from Ga, and performed this song at a game)<\/li>\n<li>GA Clay &#8211; Zac Brown Band (another Ga product and Ga is famous for its red clay)<\/li>\n<li>No Easy Way Out &#8211; Robert Tepper (Rocky IV, where Rocky defeats the hated Russian, aka Bama)<\/li>\n<li>Go Georgia Bulldogs &#8211; Redcoat Band<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s the End of the World &#8211; R.E.M (because they are an Athens band, and if UGA wins the NC, the world must be ending)<\/li>\n<li>We are the Champions &#8211; Queen (because, obvi)<\/li>\n<li>Space Wrangler &#8211; Widespread Panic (Athens band, and this album came out while YHC was in school)<\/li>\n<li>Let the Big Dawg Eat &#8211; Clisby Clark (a UGA grad and friend of my dad)<\/li>\n<li>Spiney Norman &#8211;
