YHC quickly rattled off the mission statement and the 5 core principles and instructed all to begin WoR with Abe Vigodas OYO while I got the phone connected to the speaker. We then proceeded like so:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Whirly with the clap<\/li>\n<li>Copperhead Squat<\/li>\n<li>SSH<\/li>\n<li>Imperial Walkers<\/li>\n<li>Hillbillies<\/li>\n<li>Arm Swirlies forward<\/li>\n<li>Jack Reachers<\/li>\n<li>Arm Swirlies backward<\/li>\n<li>Michael Phelps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All of these were x10 in cadence.\u00a0 The pax then took a slow mosey to the lido deck for some tabata.\u00a0 45s on, 15s rest of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Squatty potty<\/li>\n<li>Dips<\/li>\n<li>Squatty potty<\/li>\n<li>Irkins<\/li>\n<li>Squatty potty<\/li>\n<li>R leg step up<\/li>\n<li>Squatty potty<\/li>\n<li>L leg step up<\/li>\n<li>Squatty potty<\/li>\n<li>Plank<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We repeated this sequence a second time. Then we slowly moseyed to the rock pile &#8211; all pax grabbed a medium to large rock.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Curls<\/li>\n<li>Dead lift<\/li>\n<li>OH press<\/li>\n<li>Bent over row<\/li>\n<li>Chest press<\/li>\n<li>R leg pulse lunge<\/li>\n<li>L leg pulse lunge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All of these were done x12 IC, except for the pulse lunges which were x6 IC. The plan was to repeato, but we were short on time. Return the rocks, slow mosey back to launch for Mary.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>American Hammer x15ic<\/li>\n<li>LBC x15ic<\/li>\n<li>Muttons L &amp; R x15ic<\/li>\n<li>Plank for the remaining 30-40 seconds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fin.<\/p>\n<p>NMM<\/p>\n<p>My near late arrival was the subject of some consternation, especially via Palin&#8217;s chatterbox, due to the pax feeling robbed of a good 5 or 6 seconds of their scheduled beatdown. Palin rounded up to a minute a lot.<\/p>\n<p>Mongoose has some specific thoughts about what tabata is\/isn&#8217;t. Apparently repeating sequence of a given time and then following that with a given period of rest ad infinitum is too generic for him. It must be 20 on \/ 10 off. No exceptions.<\/p>\n<p>D Day has some interesting things to say about unicorns and squatty pottys and Canadian rocks and hardwood planks.<\/p>\n<p>We almost got run over by a bus at approximately 6:01 AM. That thing came barrelling into the roundabout behind the school and nearly took out 5 or 6 pax and my phone &amp; speaker. Luckily we were all nimble enough to dodge it. It isn&#8217;t hard to imagine what was going through that busdriver&#8217;s head when they saw a bunch of adult white men playing with rocks in the dark behind an elementary school.<\/p>\n<p>It was nice to see some new faces this morning. Hadn&#8217;t had the pleasure of working out with Frostbite, Earl Grey, or Holy Moly until today. Strong work, men!<\/p>\n<p>CoT<\/p>\n<p>YHC has been troubled by recent events in our school system within the past week. I&#8217;m having a hard time wrapping my head around why one teenager would be driven to kill another in a school building, and why another would feel like taking his life would solve the problems he was facing. I&#8217;m having a hard time looking in the faces of the students who are asking the same questions I am and looking for answers that aren&#8217;t there. Our school system, and the student bodies at Mt. Tabor and Reagan in particular, is dealing with a unique kind of grief right now and needs all the prayers you can muster.
