This morning YHC decided to educate the PAX on Ella Wheeler Wilcox’ poem “Solitude” as a reflection on the AO name “Flatline.”<\/p>\n

The portion of the poem utilized is as follows:<\/p>\n

Feast, and your halls are crowded;<\/div>\n
Fast, and the world goes by.<\/div>\n
Succeed and give, and it helps you live,<\/div>\n
But no man can help you die.<\/div>\n
There’s room in the halls of pleasure<\/div>\n
For a long and lordly train,<\/div>\n
But one by one we must all file on<\/div>\n
Through the narrow aisles of pain.<\/div>\n

Here’s how it went:<\/div>\n
    \n
  • Mosey to the parking deck and get straight to work as warm-o-rama is not a part of the AO’s tradition.<\/li>\n
  • The rules:\n
      \n
    • Bear crawl uphill and stop at every support beam to do 5 burpees.<\/li>\n
    • While crawling rehearse two lines of the poem so it can be recited from memory upon reaching the turn.<\/li>\n
    • If the section of the poem is not perfectly recited at the top, everyone enjoys 20 additional burpees.<\/li>\n
    • This process was repeated until the entire portion above could be recited from memory.<\/li>\n
    • By the end we all had done 215 burpees each.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • For Mary we moseyed back to parking lot for 5 minutes of plank<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      No announcements and YHC took us out.<\/p>\n

      The End<\/p>\n

        \n
      • YHC was impressed by the request for more poetry at the end<\/li>\n
      • Some wished for Dr. Seusse and Shel Silverstein.\u00a0 Maybe next time.<\/li>\n
      • It was stated that 215 might be a record for an F3 workout.\u00a0 If so, let’s break it.\u00a0 Who’s game?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
