{"id":16341,"date":"2021-06-18T21:46:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-19T01:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=16341"},"modified":"2021-06-24T15:13:47","modified_gmt":"2021-06-24T19:13:47","slug":"just-making-it-up-as-we-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2021\/06\/just-making-it-up-as-we-go\/","title":{"rendered":"Just Making It Up As We Go"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A late opportunity to lead an early-morning workout in the heart of the new Winston-Salem coupled with ideal weather and 6 of the finest DashPax resulted in a true assault of our urban area.<\/p>\n<p>Warmarama:<\/p>\n<p>The usual, unorthodox Greenspan special that started with us on our backs.\u00a0 Cherry Pie would have been doing burpees for the entire warm up.<\/p>\n<p>The Thang:<\/p>\n<p>Pax north on Patterson to BioTech Place parking lot for defensive back drills; mosey further north to the Clark Funeral Home parking lot for bear crawl bear defensive back drills.\u00a0 Have a seat on the wall as pax one-by-one step up for five merkins; back down the line one-by-one for five burpees.\u00a0 Mosey across Patterson to the Foundations for Better Learning Parking lot for bear crawl + 1 divebomber each parking space.\u00a0 One minute of fast feet on the curb, then crawl bear + 1 divebomber each parking place back to start.\u00a0 Mosey to train tracks on 7<sup>th<\/sup> Street adjacent to Winston Factory Lofts.\u00a0 Split into 2 three-man teams for a BOMB (burpees, overhead claps, merkins, big boy sit-ups) AMRAP.\u00a0 Mosey on train tracks and into the coal pit to the parking deck for pull-ups.\u00a0 Mosey home and circle up:\u00a0 one pax performs Freddie Mercs x 10 while all other pax hold plank.<\/p>\n<p>Time.<\/p>\n<p>Announcements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Shmed is the last weekend of August. Following the completion of The Shmed, Shmedfest returns!\u00a0 The third workout will be a fun run &amp; 5K officiated by Twin City Track Club; registrations will begin next week.<\/li>\n<li>Huck has IS tomorrow. Choose wisely.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>COT:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>YHC took us out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>NMM:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>YHC came into possession of the keys due to an emergent opportunity for Bevo to play golf. YHC happily obliged as 1) YHC enjoys the UA AO, 2) it had been a while since YHC visited the AO, and 3) it gave YHC a reasonable excuse to avoid H.O.G.\u2019s Tractors\/OGs double-down.\u00a0 Oh, and YHC is always happy to help a brother out.<\/li>\n<li>Snooki accused YHC mid-workout of making it up as we go. YHC grinned at the time, and then dropped my Weinke at Snook\u2019s feet at the conclusion of the workout.\u00a0 It was all planned.<\/li>\n<li>Except for the part about getting lost on the train tracks. True story.\u00a0 YHC was looking for the parking deck under the tracks but went a block too far, much to the amusement of the pax.<\/li>\n<li>Lamb Chop\u2019s first words: \u201cAre we going to run a lot?\u00a0 I have a blister on my foot from wearing running shoes to play tennis.\u201d\u00a0 YHC confessed to using \u201ctennis shoes\u201d interchangeably with running shoes and denied the possibility of much running.\u00a0 Lo and behold, we got in 2 miles, but the majority of that was due to getting lost on the training tracks.\n<ul>\n<li>YHC and Lamb Chop also enjoyed being together during the BOMB and discussed a range of topics including the development plan for innovation quarter, YHC\u2019s absolute antipathy to Trading the Dash for the Triangle, and how the housing market is anything but \u201cfree\u201d. Fascinating stuff for 5:53 in the morning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Drip offered his usual flattery following the workout. YHC\u2019s attempts are never enough for him.<\/li>\n<li>Razzie took offense at YHC\u2019s surprise seeing him for the second time this week. \u201cWhat?!\u00a0 I just go to different workouts than you!\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Posthole didn\u2019t like the 7<sup>th<\/sup> Street hill upon which we completed the BOMB.\u00a0 Sadly, that\u2019s where the key were left.\u00a0 You\u2019ll have to return there to retrieve them.\u00a0 Thanks for letting me jump back<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A late opportunity to lead an early-morning workout in the heart of the new Winston-Salem coupled with ideal weather and 6 of the finest DashPax resulted in a true assault of our urban area.
