{"id":15507,"date":"2021-04-13T15:40:01","date_gmt":"2021-04-13T19:40:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=15507"},"modified":"2021-04-13T15:40:01","modified_gmt":"2021-04-13T19:40:01","slug":"csuap-catch-up-at-flatline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2021\/04\/csuap-catch-up-at-flatline\/","title":{"rendered":"CSUAP Catch Up at Flatline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well YHC arrived onsite, thinking I&#8217;d be the first one there to get in a warm-up, since as Cherry Pie says \u201cThis is Flatline!\u00a0 There is no warmup!\u201d.\u00a0 That is in the tenants and bylaws of this style workout; check with Legal if you have questions.<\/p>\n<p>Not present @Zima would have been proud that I was both on-time AND early; but not there before @Lambchop who very likely slept in his car overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Van Gogh was the next to arrive and within a few minutes the cars were rolling in.\u00a0 YHC walked the parking lot to warm up but didn\u2019t have much of a chance.\u00a0 So with a muscle knot in my ole-a$$ calf and a not-well rehearsed F3 disclaimer, we got at it.<\/p>\n<p>YHC got a head rush, planning to go to Corpening Plaza, but instead headed in the wrong direction.\u00a0 YOU\u2019D NEVER KNOW IT GIVEN MY EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP SKILLS!<\/p>\n<p>After some buttkickers and SSH\u2019s in a nearby parking lot, we diverted back to the intersection of 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and Cherry, did IW\u2019s while waiting for light as cars passed by.\u00a0 Totally normal thing everyone does while waiting to cross at 5:34am\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Moseyed to upper piazza above Corpening for Plankjacks and Peter Parkers and 5 Burpees.<\/p>\n<p>We then moseyed to the lower Corpening Plaza:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Merkins, Squats, WW II: 10 each, increase by 10 each time round. 4 Rounds<\/li>\n<li>Bear crawl to other end: Burpees x 10, Mosey back. Did not increase.\u00a0 Always 10 burpees<\/li>\n<li>This looked okay on paper. It was not as fun as planned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Wall work:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>People\u2019s Chair w Jack Reachers<\/li>\n<li>Australian Mountain Climbers x12<\/li>\n<li>Side Lunge-Squat-Side Lunge-Squat x10 (20 squats)<\/li>\n<li>10 Donkeykick Burpees: fun<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Called for a 10 count from Cherry Pie.\u00a0 Guy counted incredibly fast and said \u201cTHERE\u2019S NO SUCH THING AS 10 COUNT AT FLATLINE!\u201d\u00a0 YHC tried again, knowing what was coming next, and asked Workbench who followed fast counting suit.\u00a0 Oh well.<\/p>\n<p>Mosey to the building exactly 65 feet away for Pillars of Progress:<\/p>\n<p>***Van Gogh, likely knowing what I was thinking, given past Q&#8217;s said \u201cYou know, counting down is a form of progress.\u201d\u00a0 YHC saw the wisdom in this so instead of the normal counting up of burpees for each of the 9 columns we counted down.\u00a0 Starting with 9 burpees, then 8, etc.\u00a0 Mental exercise wise, this was a bit of a relief.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Burpees at each Column of the 9 columns: start at 9 and decrease at each column until you do 1 on the last column<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Woseyed (walk mosey) for a few steps to gather the PAX and make way back to the AO starting spot.<\/p>\n<p>Mosey to parking lot:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Station 1 (near where I parked): WW II\u2019s x10<\/li>\n<li>Mosey\/Run\/Sprint to Station 2 by wall at end of parking lot<\/li>\n<li>Station 2: Jump Squats x 10<\/li>\n<li>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Round increase by 10<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Broga\/MOM done<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>YHC loosely led the PAX through a few sun salutations. @Cheesesteak is the expert on this stuff, but it felt decent to stretch out a little bit.<\/li>\n<li>Donezo<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Announcement:<\/u><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>May 15: Q-school at Alcatraz. Good for both old dogs and new Q\u2019s to learn some simple In\u2019s and Out\u2019s of leading a workout.<\/li>\n<li>June 5: State of the PAX<\/li>\n<li>@Lambchop has Q tomorrow at the Premier Wednesday workout, #Conspiracy.<\/li>\n<li>Some guy named @ToeTag something something #Mayhem tomorrow. Seems sketchy.<\/li>\n<li>Sunday April 25: Turnberry Classic at Tanglewood. Huckleberry and Turnover have a CSAUP planned.\u00a0 Details to follow<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>COT:<br \/>\n** <\/strong>YHC explained that COT is the Circle of Trust and this is an opportunity for us to bring forth praises, concerns, prayers, or whatever is on our minds.**<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Van Gogh gave praise that his sister gave birth recently to a health 9 pound baby. Good hardy Carlson stock.<\/li>\n<li>Bevo asked for blessings and grace for those having babies or trying to have babies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>YHC ended up taking us out.\u00a0 I asked for a moment of silence to center ourselves, bringing forth that which is on our mind, in our heart.<\/p>\n<p>After the silence, YHC got a little broken up emotionally as something that was under the surface came forth: I am trying to be a peacekeeper between members of my family who are at an impasse.\u00a0 It is difficult to see this and not be able to help.\u00a0 I thanked the men of our group, for their accountability, for their friendship, and ask that they continue to be men of peace, strength, and confidence within their own families and our community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Moleskin<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Everyone got at it this AM.\u00a0 YHC went into this workout knowing he&#8217;s behind on all exercises for the CSUAP Burns 2021 Challenge (20210 of each merkins, squats, WWII&#8217;s, 10105 burpees).\n<ul>\n<li>Final count YHC had for exercises: Burpees = 100, Merkins =100, Squats = 150 (sidelunge-squat snuck in 20 extra squats), WWII&#8217;s = 130<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Lambchop and Cheesesteak were out ahead with the plaza effort, even though Cheesesteak complained about bear crawling across the piazza (it was a long way).<\/li>\n<li>Cherry Pie has an undulation in his merkin form that shows he burns even more calories than the rest of us doing normal human merkins<\/li>\n<li>Several PAX found holly leaves in the grass while doing WWII&#8217;s.\u00a0 Bonus<\/li>\n<li>Workbench was getting at it.\u00a0 Strong work<\/li>\n<li>Huckleberry dominated the burpee effort during Pillars of Progress.\u00a0 Nothing slows that guy down.<\/li>\n<li>Turnover and Bevo had on matching, performance enhancing leggings.\u00a0 Not really but wouldn&#8217;t it be funny if they did?\n<ul>\n<li>Also Headbands improve exercise performance by 5%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Root Canal doesn&#8217;t let up.
