{"id":15430,"date":"2021-04-02T11:14:52","date_gmt":"2021-04-02T15:14:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=15430"},"modified":"2021-04-02T11:14:52","modified_gmt":"2021-04-02T15:14:52","slug":"late-night-substi-q-on-running-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2021\/04\/late-night-substi-q-on-running-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Late Night Substi-Q on Running Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This isn\u2019t a fish tale, but 5 Qs got away from today\u2019s Urban Assault honors before YHC found himself on the hook in the middle of the night.\u00a0 It probably wasn\u2019t the whopper that Posthole was imagining he was getting with the first nibbles, but it seemed to sufficiently serve the other two HIMs who showed in the gloom.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Warmarama:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Standard fare:\u00a0 SSHs, Abe Vigodas, Whirlies, Cherry Pies, Up\/Downward Dawgs<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The Thang:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We ran a Dawg Pound-inspired 2.8 mile loop; first headed south on Longbranch Trail, over to and up Rams Drive, back to Corpening Plaza, up to 1 West 4<sup>th<\/sup> Street courtyard, fly-by of Reynolds, pit stop at the train trestle, and back home with pain stations mingled in.<\/p>\n<p>All reps x 21 with moseys in between:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Merkins<\/li>\n<li>Squats<\/li>\n<li>Wilt Chamberlains<\/li>\n<li>Lunges<\/li>\n<li>WW2s<\/li>\n<li>Dips<\/li>\n<li>Jungle Boi Squats<\/li>\n<li>Gas Pumps<\/li>\n<li>Dive Bombers<\/li>\n<li>Calf Raises<\/li>\n<li>Pull-ups<\/li>\n<li>Burpees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Finishio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Announcements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As of now, the H.O.G. has the Q-onors for the SuperMax &amp; Alcatraz double-down for tomorrow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0CoT:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The H.O.G.\u2019s son who threw up in the middle of the night.<\/li>\n<li>YHC took us out by sharing some recent reflections. In all four gospel accounts (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) in the New Testament, the fittest of people in society, the Romans, Pharisees, and Sadducees, allied themselves to crucify Jesus on \u201cGood\u201d Friday.\u00a0 These \u201cfit\u201d people were ultimately blind to their heinousness.\u00a0 This is not a diatribe against them, however; this is a call to deep personal searching of our own souls beyond the identities and reputations we have created and project.\u00a0 Who are we, <em>who am I in my inner man<\/em>?\u00a0 Unlike many, YHC personally has no doubt that we, in our enlightened age, would do the same thing to Jesus today.\u00a0 I\u2019m the guy in the crowd that\u2019s rioting for Pilate to release Barabbas, not Jesus.\u00a0 I\u2019m the physically fit guy, relatively speaking, who doesn\u2019t have a relationship with my biological father who divorced my mother when I was 2 and had very little involvement in my life at any point.\u00a0 I neglected even attempting to cultivate a relationship with him because of the scars and wounds that were deep down in my soul.\u00a0 He was diagnosed with prostate cancer this week.\u00a0 I\u2019m physically fit, and that\u2019s the identity that I want to project; but the truth is, I\u2019m also deathly sick, and the inner life (or death) is what will ultimately be revealed.\u00a0 \u201cFor this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world \u2013 to bear witness to the truth.\u201d\u00a0 -John 18:37<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Moleskin:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fridays are generally a running day for YHC. Upon witnessing the H.O.G. volunteering to take the Q-onors for UA from Burns at WIB yesterday (who in turned took them from Zima who took them from someone else), YHC spontaneously called for a 3-mile EC run at 0500.\u00a0 Awaking at 0430, YHC noticed a text from the H.O.G. at 0011 (12:11 am) requesting a sub.\u00a0 YHC assumed that the EC run was off and that the running time could be used to come up with a workout.\u00a0 YHC sat in the Pilot at Bailey Park under the watchful eye of Kim the Security Guard (very friendly and welcoming, BTW) looking at old Dawg Pound backblasts.\u00a0 The Dawg Pound was a WeFoCo Saturday workout at Tanglewood that involved running with pain stations.\u00a0 YHC quickly had the makings of the plan.<\/li>\n<li>The other part of the equation, of course, was pax to enjoy the fun with. Posthole arrived with 8 minutes to spare; the two of us were making coffee plans when Cheesesteak ran the light at 4<sup>th<\/sup> street to join us just in time.<\/li>\n<li>When we were halfway up Rams Drive, which Cheesesteak &amp; Posthole <em><u>loved<\/u><\/em>, BTW, Posthole says, \u201cI hope Razzie didn\u2019t show up on Spicoli-time. He\u2019ll never find us now.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Upon arrival at the train trestle, Posthole offered up, \u201cI wondered when this would make an appearance.\u201d YHC is nothing if not predictable.<\/li>\n<li>Cheesesteak didn\u2019t see coming the 21 burpees when we returned to the launch. \u201cEffin A!\u201d\u00a0 YHC can\u2019t tell you how gratifying that outburst was.\u00a0 At another point, he (Cheesesteak) expressed his satisfaction at the disorientation of those pax who posted to his Conspiracy Q earlier this week.<\/li>\n<li>Cheesesteak commented that \u201cWilt Chamberlains\u201d and \u201cAlabama Prom Dates\u201d were equally descriptive and not really appropriate for mixed company. This led to Posthole admitting that he knew very little about Wilt the Stilt which led to a discussion of Wilt\u2019s \u201cscoring\u201d prowess.\u00a0 PS:\u00a0 The top 6 single-game scoring performances in the NBA are as follows:\u00a0 Wilt:\u00a0 100; Kobe:\u00a0 81; Wilt:\u00a0 78;\u00a0 David Thompson (yes, the NCSU David Thompson) and Wilt (twice):\u00a0 73<\/li>\n<li>Cheesesteak and YHC agreed that <em>something<\/em> happens to us when we turn 40, providing loads of encouragement to the youthful 39-year old Posthole.
