{"id":14770,"date":"2021-02-02T13:41:41","date_gmt":"2021-02-02T17:41:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=14770"},"modified":"2021-02-02T13:41:41","modified_gmt":"2021-02-02T17:41:41","slug":"parking-garage-fomo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2021\/02\/parking-garage-fomo\/","title":{"rendered":"Parking Garage FOMO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">WOW!\u00a0 Just wow!\u00a0 I was not expecting 17 other PAX to show up this morning.\u00a0 I stand before you, a humbled Q.\u00a0 Those are Bells N Whistles or Purgatory type numbers, not downtown beatdown numbers.\u00a0 The \u2018burbs must have been cleared out this morning as the masses headed to the big city to try this workout thing.\u00a0 I had only planned for the usual 5 or 6 brave souls to post in wind-chilled weather of the mid-20s.\u00a0 As 5:30 crept closer and more crazy dudes appeared, there were murmurs for the Q to start the proceedings in order to raise the internal body temperature.\u00a0 Though perplexed on how to pull off this planned beatdown with so many in attendance, the Q obliged and the crowd marched onward.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>WARMARAMA.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Run to the Parking Deck of Death.\u00a0 (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">P.S. Nowhere in the bylaws does it say the PAX cannot warm up at Flatline.\u00a0 The only stated rules are constant motion and high tempo, if achievable.\u00a0 As long as warm ups are constant motion, they are allowable.\u00a0 As a personal preference, I think warming up during a beatdown is a timewaster.\u00a0 But #YouDoYou.\u00a0 As with many other early morning activities, do that in the privacy of your own home.\u00a0 I simply chose to dispense with the usual SSHs, ISTs, and Cherry Pie Arm Nonsense and instead jumped right into the beatdown.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>BEATDOWN.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Burpees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> x 39 OYO<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Choose your favorite #2021Challenge exercise to perform while waiting on the Six.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Start at the first I-beam with this series of exercises: <\/span><b>Pullups<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><b>Slappy Hump Jumps<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (with an I-beam slap), <\/span><b>Downhill Ski Abs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><b>WMDs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> x 1.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Run up the ramp to the top of the level.\u00a0 Turn around and run back down the ramp to the bottom of the level.\u00a0 Turn around and run to I-beam #2.\u00a0 Repeat all exercises x 2.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Repeat for all 9 I-beams with increasing exercises.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since it\u2019s Groundhog Day, repeat the whole series (complete with Burpees) until time runs out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">* Slappy Hump Jumps: 5 Monkey Humpers with a Jump Squat on number 5.\u00a0 Touch the I-beam on the #LearnedLeadership.\u00a0 Many of you reading this have been guilty of providing inspiration or even direct influence on locale and\/or exercises.\u00a0 Today was the annual celebration of the birth of our dear friend, @Huckleberry.\u00a0 Blame him for what you just went through!\u00a0 A 39 burpee penalty was requested\/suggested (although said requester was not present), so that\u2019s how we started.\u00a0 Mr. Huck is working on his pullup form and recently(?) installed a pullup bar in his garage.\u00a0 He idiotically introduced the world to Hump Jumps and he likes to ski.\u00a0 Ok, so I threw in the WMDs, but everything else was his fault.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Note: I\u2019m getting quite good at birthday beatdowns (humble brag), if I do say so myself, as this is at least the 8th birthday-themed beatdown that I\u2019ve led in F3.\u00a0 I\u2019m also available for weddings, anniversaries, quinceaneras, and bar mitzvahs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The absolute worst part about this workout was that the Q did not catch much of the mumblechatter.\u00a0 With this group, there was surely some top-rate, fantastic comments and conversations, especially judging by the smiles on everyones\u2019 faces.\u00a0 Unfortunately, I couldn\u2019t hear any of it because of the echoes in the parking deck and the conscientiousness of the PAX who socially distanced themselves throughout the open space.\u00a0 Sorry, I wish I had more for you.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The title of the backblast comes from the fact that I\u2019ve avoided Flatline for months due to injury recovery and #DadDuty.\u00a0 During my hiatus, I\u2019ve been reading the superb backblasts and greatly missing the amazing workouts that have been taking place.\u00a0 FOMO is real, my friends.\u00a0 Millions of Americans suffer from it each day.\u00a0 AstraZeneca may be able to help.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It appeared as though the 2nd F was flowing strongly.\u00a0 So many always, workout styles differed greatly (and that\u2019s not just because @Cheesesteak was doing @Cheesesteak-type things) throughout the morning.\u00a0 Some people worked on their form, others were rehabbing injuries, some chose to run more, others practiced camaraderie, a few followed the Q\u2019s incredibly short Weinke, some banged out as many legally allowable #2021Challenge reps as possible, a couple of guys modified to exercises more of their liking, and some learned to ski uphill.\u00a0 #ModifyAsNecessary.\u00a0 Whatever the reason each man posted, I sincerely hope he got what he came for.\u00a0 Not everyone shows up for the same reasons, but we all do it together.\u00a0 #IronSharpensIron<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>PRAYERS:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight:
