{"id":14466,"date":"2021-01-08T14:45:29","date_gmt":"2021-01-08T18:45:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=14466"},"modified":"2021-05-03T15:39:42","modified_gmt":"2021-05-03T19:39:42","slug":"snow-drifts-and-older-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2021\/01\/snow-drifts-and-older-women\/","title":{"rendered":"Snow Drifts and Older Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One or more of these things may have happened at Urban Assault this morning:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Copious amounts of snow to navigate in and around<\/li>\n<li>Sledding down Pilot View &amp; Forsyth<\/li>\n<li>Cross-country skiing around Bailey Park<\/li>\n<li>A security guard starring ominously at a group of men ranging from the ages of 29 and 43<\/li>\n<li>An ill-advised EC-run<\/li>\n<li>Excellent musical selection<\/li>\n<li>Lamb Chop recounting the coup of marrying a woman 12 years his elder<\/li>\n<li>A money\u2019s worth beatdown<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Warmarama:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SSHs, Abe Vigodas, Hammy Stretch, Arm Destroyers<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Beatdown<\/u>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mosey to the parking deck and partner up for Flora Dora, as described on the first piece of cardboard.\u00a0 Partner A does exercise,\u00a0 Partner B runs up two levels and then back down; flip flop.\u00a0 The exercises were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Burpees x 50<\/li>\n<li>Jungle Boi Squats x 100<\/li>\n<li>Squats x 150<\/li>\n<li>WW2s x 200<\/li>\n<li>Lunges x 150<\/li>\n<li>Jungle Boi Squats x 100<\/li>\n<li>Burpees x 50<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Having sped through that portion, we turned to the second piece of cardboard.\u00a0 This solo EMOM portion required the pax to speed up half a level of the deck, back down, then work to a cumulative 21 of the following exercises:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Burpees<\/li>\n<li>Cobra Crunch (DC)<\/li>\n<li>Low Dolly<\/li>\n<li>Lunges (DC)<\/li>\n<li>Dive Bombers<\/li>\n<li>Mountain Climbers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mosey home and time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Announcements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Seven-year anniversary beatdown is tomorrow, Saturday, 1\/9\/21. The same workout will be held at three locations at the same time to reduce the risk of spreading the virus:\u00a0 Speas Global School (home of Purgatory), Hanes Park (home of Impossible Situation), and River Oaks Community Church.\u00a0 Despite the workouts being the same, you can expect the celebration to be grander at Purgatory than anywhere else.<\/li>\n<li>Beverly is running 43 miles on January 16<sup>th<\/sup> for his 43rd birthday, and he is looking for people to run portions with him. He is raising money for HOPE.\u00a0 The plan is for the run to begin at 8 am and finish at 5.\u00a0 He promises to run \u201cslow\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>2021 challenge is live. Goal is 20,210 merkins, WW2s, squats, + 10,105 burpees.\u00a0 There is a spreadsheet and channel on Slack.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>CoT:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Burns\u2019s mother-in-law is having knee replacement surgery in Hickory this week.<\/li>\n<li>Bullwinkle had surgery Tuesday (1\/5\/21).<\/li>\n<li>Boomerang\u2019s wife retired; his sister being treated for cancer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Moleskin:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It was awesome having Zima out. He\u2019ll be a mutated monster when his leg heals as he was doing one-legged burpees.\u00a0 He might even give Huck a run for his money in time.\u00a0 He was not happy, however, that the workout did not include any merkins, per say, to add to his rep challenge total.<\/li>\n<li>Great to see Post Hole for the first time this year. He had a few snippy things to say about the two pieces of cardboard, and the initial decision to run up an entire level on the 21s, but otherwise was his expected pleasant self.<\/li>\n<li>The H.O.G. was all business and seemed perturbed that YHC and Lamb Chop were attempting to get some 2<sup>nd<\/sup> F in throughout our runs.
