The call was put out to the PAX on The Slack about the 3rd and final installment of The Phoenix hosted by YHC.\u00a0 The first two installments were brutally tough and well-attended by the #HIM of F3WS.\u00a0 The first two were also marred by YHC’s speaker, which inexplicably stopped working BOTH TIMES about half way through the beatdown. Solution: I’ll just bring the other speaker I have. There’s no way that the same problem happens with 2 different speakers, right? ………………………RIGHT!?<\/p>\n
At 5:28, YHC was still the only one in the parking lot, so it was looking like I was going to have to #SadClown my way through this monstrosity of a beatdown. I get things set up, the clock hits 5:30 so I start warming up. As I’m finishing up the SSH’s, who walks onto the tennis courts but @Green Acres, who HC’d on Slack yesterday and RIRO’d in. Excellent. I don’t have to do this by myself. Green Acres and I get our warmup on, which takes a little more time than I allotted for the warmup, but it’s just the two of us (shout out Bill Withers), so who cares. Time to get to work.<\/p>\n

Not much MC to speak of as this workout is a killer.\u00a0 YHC was close to death for most of the morning, and Green Acres did an excellent job of acting like it wasn’t childs play to him. #Beast<\/p>\n
YHC did notice that Green Acres HC’d to The Outhouse on Sunday, so I knew I would at least have one person to suffer through this thing with, but when he was not present by 5:28, the reality of having to slog through it by myself started to weigh heavy. I was going to do it, but I wasn’t going to be happy about it. Thankfully he finally showed up, and thus we didn’t have to ask the Slackbot what the burpee penalty was for today.<\/p>\n
As previously mentioned, I brought a different speaker today, hoping to avoid the snafus that occurred the first two times with my other speaker. No such luck. The thing cut off about half way through the workout. I started it back up and got about another 10 minutes out of it before it quit again. One more effort to revive our musical accompaniment only yielded about another 4 minutes. After the third time the thing quit, I was rolling in and out of consciousness and we were so close to be done, that I said to myself, to hell with the speaker, just try not to die before 6:15. Mission accomplished, sort of. So I either have 2 shoddy speakers, a shoddy phone, or the universe just doesn’t approve of that workout. It can’t be a problem with the playlist because its irrefutably the best playlist known to mankind.<\/p>\n
