He\u2019s offering $5 Footlongs for a week for anyone who posts to all workouts (#fakenews).<\/li>\n<li>Schneider reminded (announced?) a bottle of bourbon will be awarded to anyone who Qs at every WeFoCo workout Monday-Saturday in a single week. Wednesday workout is a Nomad.\u00a0 Sour Mash will evaluate the integrity of any claims.<\/li>\n<li>The Shmed, August 28-29. 24-hour Completely Stupid and Utterly Purposeful (CSAUP) beatdown to raise awareness and funds for Crisis Control.\u00a0 Schedule of festivities to come this week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>CoT:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>YHC shared some personal thoughts on the dignity and honor of being father, how the race is never finished, and we cannot run it alone.\u00a0 Furthermore, our activities as fathers are pale imitations of our SkyQ, and the paternal love he demonstrates toward us.\u00a0 We have to encourage one another, pointing out one another\u2019s blind spots and praising one another\u2019s gifts.\u00a0 YHC has a friend who recently said, \u201cIf it\u2019s not perfect, it\u2019s not the end.\u201d\u00a0 Though she was speaking in a different context, I think the principle applies to fatherhood very well.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Moleskin:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>YHC wanted to capture the joy, the exhaustion, the never ending, never giving up theme YHC feels with being the father of three wonderful children in a silly, but challenging manner. Some pax noted the singularity of \u201cFather\u201d; YHC explained that none of us were able to finish the workout alone, and none of us will be the father our children need us to be without others around us to push us onward.<\/li>\n<li>The pax were impressed by the seeming preparedness that went into the workout when they discovered the Tupperware container of sidewalk chalk. Our family gets a subscription shipment of the stuff from Amazon every six weeks.\u00a0 Kobains on missing the obligatory post-workout picture.\u00a0 We were a sweaty mess, if you can envision that.<\/li>\n<li>$5 Footlong was the only one among us who, as of yet, does not have children. This made for some good natured ribbing from the other pax, including the Q who used $5\u2019s MC as the impetus for the burpees.<\/li>\n<li>Good to see Bluto out. He kindly picked up YHC\u2019s orange code but otherwise was a silent assassin of the reps.<\/li>\n<li>Snake Eyes asked, \u201cWhat are Alabama Prom Dates?\u201d Schneider quickly volunteered to demonstrate for him; go figure.\u00a0 Snake Eyes: \u201cOh.\u00a0 I get it now.\u201d\u00a0 It was good to work out with SE after meeting him on Saturday.\u00a0 Word is he\u2019s going to make a run at Sour Mash\u2019s bottle of bourbon in upcoming weeks.<\/li>\n<li>Speaking of, few pax who were not actually present at workout have ever been spoken to and of as much as Mash was this morning. Word is he had a late night\u2026.last Thursday.<\/li>\n<li>TSC, Schneider, and YHC had a deep philosophical discussion about skunks, after YHC referred to the one we saw on our EC run as \u201cmature.\u201d YHC spent part of his Father\u2019s Day watching a Wild Kratts episode about skunks, so the topic was top of mind.\u00a0 PSA:\u00a0 TSC has a friend whose dogs got tangled up with a skunk and reentered the home prior to the friend realizing what had happened.\u00a0 Three weeks and much ripping out of rugs later, the smell had dissipated.\u00a0 Not to be outdone, Schneider relayed how he had hit one in his truck in winter.\u00a0 This resulted in several weeks of cold driving.<\/li>\n<li>Boomerang and YHC got to spend some 2<sup>nd<\/sup> F time post-workout. Good, as always, to be together.<\/li>\n<li>YHC and Sassy were in adjacent, socially distanced parking spaces. Sassy relayed how he was glad he came as he thought that we might be in for wet weather upon exiting his house this morning.\u00a0 YHC is glad he came too.<\/li>\n<li>YHC yelled out with ~5 minutes left, \u201cI just want to complete one exercise!\u201d Most pax ended up with somewhere between 450-650 reps completed and +1 mile run.\u00a0 Not bad for a Monday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thank you all for coming out and having a little fun this morning.\u00a0 May you be long-suffering and joyful in your daddy dooties (joke for $5 there) today and every day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eight pax, three of whom got in a +2 mile EC run, came together for some fatherly Idiocy!
