{"id":12422,"date":"2020-06-21T08:28:55","date_gmt":"2020-06-21T12:28:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=12422"},"modified":"2020-06-21T08:28:55","modified_gmt":"2020-06-21T12:28:55","slug":"kids-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2020\/06\/kids-games\/","title":{"rendered":"Kids Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this week\u2026\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>Zima \u2013 \u201chey huck, will you be staying close to the playground at Charlie foxtrot on Saturday\u201d<\/p>\n<p>YHC \u2013 \u201cNot sure.\u00a0 Haven\u2019t planned it yet.\u00a0 Why?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zima \u2013 \u201cI have the boys and was thinking about coming out as long as I could keep an eye on them\u201d<\/p>\n<p>YHC \u2013 \u201cthen yes.\u00a0 Bring the boys and we will see you on Saturday\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s how it started.\u00a0 Now I just had to come up with a plan.\u00a0 In the end, all kids were invited and were included in the beatdown.\u00a0 This is what happened\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n<p>11 Pax and three 2.0s showed up to play some old school games.<\/p>\n<p>Warm \u2013o- rama \u2013 all IC \u2013 SSH x 20, IW x 15 (Zimas boys did a better job than Zima), Abe V x 10, Merkins (why is one of Zimas kids on my back\u2026\u2026.and why is it the heavier one) x ???- lost count due to the bouncing weight on my back, Michael Phelps.<\/p>\n<p>Mosey to the soccer field next to the playground for our first game.<\/p>\n<p>TAG \u2013 cones set up 50 yards apart.\u00a0 The PAX must bear crawl 50 yards, turn around, and bear crawl 50 yards back.\u00a0 The twist\u2026\u2026.all of the kids are it and can run.\u00a0 If you get tagged, you must stop the bear crawl and perform 3 burpees.\u00a0 Resume bear crawl.\u00a0 Second twist \u2013 increase the merkins in the burpees \u2013 each time you are tagged, increase the merkins by 1.<\/p>\n<p>Round 2 \u2013 same rules\u2026..just crab walk instead of bear crawl.<\/p>\n<p>Mosey to basketball court for game 2 \u2013 Duck Duck Goose<\/p>\n<p>Circle up.\u00a0 PAX hold a static pose while we play DDG.\u00a0 Once you are Goosed, you power skip around the circle instead of running.\u00a0 If you catch the PAX or kid that tapped you Goose, they have to do 5 burpees.\u00a0 If you do not catch them, you do 5 monkey humpers.<\/p>\n<p>Static poses \u2013 high plank, side plank, opposite side plank, reverse plank, low squat, low flutter<\/p>\n<p>Mosey to bus lot for game 3 \u2013 Race<\/p>\n<p>The bus lot is slightly uphill.\u00a0 PAX line up on the bottom line with the kids.\u00a0 Rules are simple \u2013 on GO, kids sprint to last bus line and pax sprint backwards to the last bus line.\u00a0 All out.\u00a0 If any kid beats their dad, all pax have to do 10 Bobby Hurleys.\u00a0 Repeato x 7.\u00a0 Spoiler alert\u2026\u2026.we did 70 Bobby Hurleys after backwards sprints uphill 7 times.<\/p>\n<p>Mosey to the playground for the final game \u2013 playground exploring\u2026\u2026DORA<\/p>\n<p>50 pull ups<\/p>\n<p>150 merkins<\/p>\n<p>250 squats<\/p>\n<p>Sprint around the playground and switch with partner.<\/p>\n<p>Paleton back to start for Mary<\/p>\n<p>Mary \u2013 Heels to heaven, American Hammer, Freddy Merks.<\/p>\n<p>FIN, Done, Spent.\u00a0 Game over.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Annoucements \u2013 Schmedfest, Greenspan has Q at VI<\/p>\n<p>Prayers \u2013 all unspoken<\/p>\n<p>YHC took us out asking for healing of HOGs son and a quick recovery, help us find those that need HIM, and just more love and HIM in the world.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MC \u2013 lots of it<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The kids were amazing! It\u2019s too bad they won every game and the pax suffered for it.<\/li>\n<li>Tag was miserable. The as soon as you got any momentum, you were tagged.\u00a0 Lots of burpees, lots of merkins<\/li>\n<li>The pax all revolted round 2 with crab walks \u2013 but as soon as we said GO, they all complied. Some did better with crab walking than bear crawling. \u00a0Others did not. \u00a0Zima may actually still be out there.<\/li>\n<li>Duck Duck Goose \u2013 Sour insisted all monkey humpers must be performed basically on YHCs head. The rest of the pax agreed.<\/li>\n<li>Sprints\/Race \u2013 Greenspan can not beat his son BamBam in a sprint. When planning, YHC did not expect him to lose every race. \u00a0Or maybe he lost on purpose to torture the pax. FYI\u2026..sprinting backwards uphill only to do 10 bobby hurleys at the top was a quad killer. There was an 8<sup>th<\/sup> round where we raced them forwards (some pax wanted to see if they could beat the kids).\u00a0 Final results are pending but it was closer than we thought it would be.<\/li>\n<li>Playground exploring \u2013 kids played. Pax worked.<\/li>\n<li>Pelaton back \u2013 kids did not get the process so it rapidly turned into a jailbreak. We ran back for the 6.\u00a0 Zimas 2.0 asked Sour what he was doing all the way back there.\u00a0 Sour responded with \u201cI\u2019m slow\u201d.\u00a0 0 \u201cwhy?\u201d.\u00a0 Sour \u201cI made a lot of poor choices as a kid\u201d.\u00a0 Schneider \u201cand you continue as an adult\u201d.\u00a0 Brotherly love.<\/li>\n<li>All pax got after it this morning. Snake eyes expected more playing than working out.\u00a0 He was surprised.<\/li>\n<li>Sour was excited when we moseyed to the basketball court \u2013 that did not last long<\/li>\n<li>Greenspan loves static holds.<\/li>\n<li>Bevo thinks that greenspan is leaking and not sweating after playing DDG.<\/li>\n<li>It was great to see litterbox out there and it was great working out with snake eyes<\/li>\n<li>Also great to workout with Bullwinkle \u2013 he somehow managed to escape getting tagged as much as the rest of us.
